Justin Earl

Justin has 15 years of development experience working with some of the largest real estate players in Utah and nationally. He brings enthusiasm, creativity, and confidence to the industry.

Prior to starting J.B. Earl Company, Justin co-founded Blackfish, a development company that specializes in developing college student apartment communities. He was previously Director of Acquisitions and Development with one of the largest multifamily developers in Utah, Ivory Commercial (ICO). Before ICO, Justin worked with Phillips Edison & Company, a public/private REIT specializing in grocery anchored shopping centers throughout the US. Justin was also the Land Acquisition Manager and the Development Manager for Alpine Homes, a subsidiary of a “Top 50” private home building company in the US.

Justin earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Brigham Young University, and both his Master of Finance and Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Utah. He has enjoyed teaching several classes for the University of Utah MRED program, and mentoring both U of U and BYU teams for the Utah Real Estate Challenge.

When he is not working on development, Justin enjoys spending time with his wife and 5 children and exploring the great outdoors.  

Bruce Bastian

Bruce joined the J.B. Earl development team in 2018 as a Development Analyst. He brings passion, creativity, and an analytical background to the team.  

As an active investor in real estate for over seven years, Bruce has taken a life-long learning approach to development. He is well versed in the process of due diligence and in the language of real estate. In 2015 he earned an MBA from BYU’s Marriott School of Management and has 10 years of experience in market analysis and research.

On the weekends and evenings you'll often find him either rock climbing, trail running, or biking with his best friend, his wife, and their two beautiful children.
